A few years back, a ladyfriend of mine was in a serious crash while racing and injured her leg. When I say 'injured', I mean that it went through the rear wheel and was about 80% amputated by the chain.
She got a handicapped placcard and I did a lot of driving for her. I noticed two things. The first was that around Christmas people are complete assholes. They'll wedge themselves in between vehicles in handicapped spaces, to the point where the person who needs the spot can't get back into their vehicle. That's if they don't take the space, outright, because it's 'convenient.' Yes, it's convenient. It's also not for their use. The second thing that I found was that certain self-righteous people are more than willing to tell you what an asshole you are to take a handicapped parking space, when you are completely healthy. Apparently these people are visually handicapped also, for they are unable to see that a passenger can be completely incapable of walking OR driving herself around. And lastly, likely something north of 60% of the vehicles that are parked in handicapped spots are, in fact, driven there by the person who would normally act as a driver for such a person, but they are present WITHOUT the person who would need to be driven. In other words, they are fraudulently using the handicapped parking permit. When my friend wasn't in the truck with me, that thing came off the dashboard. |

This thread had me rolling. The dr phil, fat people faces, and especially "when I got run over by a dumptruck" cracked me up. Sorry rider, but how it came out was hilarious.
