If you stick a long pin in your banana, at 1/2 inch increments, whist making rotational movements, your banana will be pre-sliced before peeling.
Also, the little strings attached will be much shorter. JC

I learned I'm never buying another polo shirt. After a few washes they get a permanent crease in the collar and look worse than if I had just wore a t-shirt to work.

It's inevitable - the trick is to iron the crease you want in it before you wear it the first time, then it will stick to that crease. I've got a couple that I didn't do that to that have some funky creases that I just can't work out.
