Damn, I missed all the fun. Lots of good advice here. The only thing I'll add is about the knot. I've seen some people recommend half, full, and double windsor knots, but that's kind of a half answer. The knot should go with the style of collar your shirt has. If your collar is long and narrow, a double windsor knot is complete fucking overkill. The collar will end up covering up most of the knot and it'll look fucking retarded. On the opposite end of it, if the collar has a wide, shorter part, a half windsor knot wouldn't be large enough, and again, would look retarded. Stay far away from a four in hand knot. That's bush league cub scout shit that ruins any shirt. If you got the shirt from Kohl's, chances are that a full windsor will fit the bill, or if the tie is a good material, a Shelby/Pratt knot will give a good sized "triangle" to fill the collar and it's a little easier to tie than a Windsor.

I did the formal and realized what an untapped resource Emory University is when it comes to hunting tail. There were more gay guys at the party than straight guys and more girls than guys. Emory is an ungodly hard school and is full of nerds. And the closest real college is Georgia Tech which is full of nerds. They are not use to "Men" coming into their world and when they do they freaking love them to death. Everytime her friends head out on the town they beg her to bring me. They said they feel safe when I'm with them. Well Friday I said fuck it and went to Men's Wearhouse. They measured my neck and said it was 17 1/2 and got me an 18" collar. I figured out the tie thing fairly well too. It was still kind of baggy on me but I'll just have to get a straight up custom shirt if I want one. I have a big back, broad shoulders, and fairly muscular. Kind of a lineman build which also means I'm not like leaned and ripped up. So it fits tight on my shoulders and arms but baggy around. I'll get a custom shirt once she gets back from Chicago next semester. By then I'll have a few Triathlons under my belt and will be much better built. So I'll get a custom then. But those shirts fit on the skinny guys pefect. Thanks for the help all. It was tough trying to get a knuckle dragger to stand upright but I think I did alright.

The best part is my gf and all of her friends pay for their own shit. They buy their own drinks, buy their own food, buy their own whatever. Try that at some SEC 4 year school with a chick from there. They expect you to pay for everything (from gum to a one week vacation to wherever) and your chance of getting ass is still 50/50. Chance of ass at Emory. 100% except with one girl who is still a virgin despite she gets hammered.

Here is a pic of the suit. I actually tied that tie too. I'd still like to hang whomever came up with the idea of a suit with that tie.

Nice shoulders. PM a better pic and we'll give a special thread in the ladies section.
And please don't refer to yourself as a knuckle dragger. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a nice guy that appreciates a smart girl, and isn't afraid of her income potential. Glad you had a good time and made your lady proud.
