honestly this was just an idea i had.. i spent a lot of time in bad neighborhoods in my teens.. most people have not.. i am putting together a motorcycle mockumentary (3-5 year project, last year i probably got 20 hours of footage i am still going through) and this is a part of it.. i am not looking to go into the hood and start shit or look for trouble.. i just want to roll through and get some footage as part of the overall story.. it's a vision i have and i am not going to sell it or try to profit from it.. just something i want to do, if for nothing else my own entertainment.. i have put together some short clips and other people seem entertained as well.. so i think the entire 90 minute finished product should be of interest to some people as well..
I'd love to check it out when done.....

no problem.. i am just going to give it away to anyone that wants a copy.. kind of just capturing some different aspects of motorcycling.. street, track, bike nights, etc. i have a rough outline and i am just doing it little by little.. this year so far has been pretty slow with 35 of the last 49 days it has rained.. i do actually have a pretty cool like 5 minute clip i want to do which requires 2-3 hours of riding in some heavy rain..

Watched the first minute or so........Cool soundtrack, but seems like most of the properties he shows are vacant. You can find burned-out homes anywhere, but if they're empty, so what? To make a real emotional impact, the video should show the conditions that people actually live in.

Also it should have the street names on it.

Honestly that vid that Tally posted... not all that bad. The destroyed areas I don't usually believe are as "ruff" as some of the "nicer" areas. In those destroyed areas it's homeless dudes, not homies trying to prove themselves to their bros. That video should be called the run down not the ghetto. IMO

The sad thing about Detroit is how all the famous theatres & nightspots are only a few blocks away from crap. Like if you take Woodward north away from downtown, it rapidly goes downhill.

My car was stolen on Atwater only a couple blocks away from the jazz club I was at.

Corktown used to be getting "hip" with young professionals moving in, but that was 10-12 years ago --- Is that still true anymore?

They need to finish tearing up all the old buildings on Woodward and around/near downtown. Last time I was there some were in process of being taken down, hopefully its looks better.

Funny thing is that with scrap metal being worth a premium, I was surprised to see so much metal stuff lying around.

Corktown is still resonably "hip" as anything in that michigan ave / woodward area is.

But as I tried to show Marko when he was here. Even woodward is face value nice. Hell you go behind the fox theator and in the alley parking you can get knifed.
