yeah but body scructure also plays a big role too. there are people out there that even if they lost enough weight to be fit they would still outwardly appear overweight

Theres a difference between being big boned, overweight, and obese. Up until the last few years, I was one of those people constantly accused of having an eating disorder because I am naturally small. I have no reason for it, as no one else in my family is that way, but from the time I was a small child I've had people trying to feed me. It can be irritating. As Ive gotten older, my metabolism has slowed significantly and now staying at a decent weight requires effort. I've been 30 pounds overweight, Ive been 15 pounds underweight. I can FEEL the drag even when I put on a few pounds, as well as the ill feeling when I am too thin. I know how people let themselves go, but I dont understand why they dont put in the effort needed to see a doc for help, or eat right (hard as it is), or to exercise (tho I know it sucks). I feel bad for them. Id like to say they are only hurting themselves, but anyone whos sat next to someone who needed 2 seats plus some of yours, or who had to wait to pass someone in a motorized buggy at walmart because they are too ill due to obesity to carry themselves around, or who has to deal with their health issues suffers too. |

It's that kind of crazy self destructive behavior that baffles me....toss in the invariable rationalizing and excuse making that usually comes with it and I just write people like that off entirely. |
