Corporation Says It Will Run for Congress
Can't wait to see how this turns out.
Corporation Says It Will Run for Congress By CATHERINE RAMPELL Following the Supreme Court decision implicitly granting corporations the right to free speech (by determining that political spending is a kind of speech), a corporation has decided to take what it believes to be “democracy’s next step”: It is running for Congress. With more than a twinge of irony, Murray Hill Incorporated, a liberal public relations firm, recently announced that it planned to run in the Republican primary in Maryland’s 8th Congressional District. more here: http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/20...-for-congress/ |

Well didnt they courts just rule that a corporation was an individual entity for the purpose of campaign funding? An individual can hold office too right.
I certain we have this republic thing ALL wrong!

I don't recall the Supreme Court ruling that a Corporation had to be a certain age before contributing... Makes you wonder if the Supreme Court has any idea what a box of cluster fuck they've opened. JC

you know what? I like it. Seems to me that if it was a publicly traded company you'd have more control as a constituant. Ceo fucks up, shareholders cashier his ass. Election or no.

If a Corporation, which is a group of individuals, can have the same rights as one individual, then the cumulative age of all the individuals in the Corporation, should be counted as the age of the Corporation. Don't try to out lawyer me, city slicker! JC

Pauldun is correct. The corporation age is the age at which it legally became a corporation. You cannot average it's employees ages. I mean what if the corporation trades stocks? Gonna average those people too? Fail.
