Default Bought another bike this weekend

Not sure where to put this. Mods I am sure you will move it to the correct spot if need be.

Like the title says, another bike! Cindy, my wife, found it on Craig's list and the next thing I know I am riding it the 50 odd miles back to New Braunfels.

This may not seem odd to all here yet many circumstances occurred this past year that made me doubt the value of Motorcycling in general.

Since 2001 I have owned and sold 6 motorcycles. I have had all types, cruisers, rice rockets, Duel Sports,Gold Wing, and now a GASP! A Harley!!

It seemed that as the years went by I forgot something. I dearly LOVE riding! Have since way before my feet could even touch the ground on a mini bike. Yet I chased every fad out there. Big is better. red is the only color, faster and faster.

Every slogan of Madison avenue could apply to me and my cycle adventure.

So now I am back where I was as a newly graduated 18 year old. Back then I walked into my job one day and a guy I knew had just parked his 1969 Iron head sportster in front of the store. Two inch extension on the forks, and shaking back and forth so badly (as it idled) that the front wheel moved two inches front to back. I thought it strange that a guy like him would be on a motorcycle of any type let alone one of those. After all you met the nicest people on a Honda back then.

So I have come full circle. Rode for pride, admiration, thrills and some spills, and of course to be noticed. Told people the GW was a two wheeled Winnebago. What a Kroc! Over priced and over weight POS.

Now I see riding for what it is. Just plain fun. I just need one big enough to carry me and my wife around and I don't care if I am waved at again, or admired.

Of course the new sportsters don't shake any thing like those old ones did, but it is enough to do what I want and that's all that matters.

that, good sir, is what matters. ride for the joy of it, and nothing else.

You really need to change your name.

So...when do I get to ride it?

I posted a pic in one of my threads and when I tried to post it in this one it told me I couldn't post the pic in both threads.

Someone else could post it. I can't get on photobucket at work, or else I'd do it.

very cool. my dad went back to riding last year. he's having a ball with his Honda Shadow.
funny he was always a Harley guy when I was growing up. He can't wait for me to come visit him with the bike so we can trade. LOL
