Power Corrupts...Absolute Power is FUN!
Let's face it; I'm an olde farte by any standards....age, fatness, baldness, political leanings, bad back...I could go on and on. My mother used to say I was so conservative that I was born a little old man and my riding usually reflects that. Having suffered a few crashes in my youth, I'm not what you would call a big risk-taker; AGATT, anti-hooligan, much for rider courtesy...yadayada.
Well! I took the SB6r out again this weekend for a quick trip to Harper's Ferry before the cold weather moves in and ruins what little riding time is left. I don't think I've ever ridden a bike that was SO elemental in it's purpose. Relatively light, lotsa HP, lotsa torque, great handling and great brakes...what's not to love? I picked my roads with the proviso that I hadn't ever been on them before... and if'n you've even been into the area of western Md and WV you'll know that it's a hilly area marked with lots of streams and rivers and the roads wind and rise and fall with them, rather than through. With little or no traffic for miles. So it is that I find myself sheepishly admitting that I flung that bike through turns and that most every exit and rise had me flapping the front wheel in the air with childish glee.... I'm not sure I'll ever live this down........ But it sure was fun........

I'm pretty much convinced that almost every sportbike rider has some degree of squid in them... it's just about how you control it and if you're willing to own up to the squidliness.

What's wrong with that ?
I hope I'm always a kid at heart as I am now and I don't care what my driver's license says. |
