Default Is your job safe....

If your place of employment started laying off people, would you be one of the first to go? or you there to stay?

me: if they lay me off its because the whole place is shutting down, on the downside, i work like a dog and dont make shit.

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Last hired on my desk, but as long as the economy sucks, people need behavioral health care more than ever to cope...it's a catch-22.

Who knows? I would have said that 2 of the people that they recently got rid of at my company did way too much to be let go, but since I'm now doing their jobs plus mine.... I just assume that if my card works to get me in the door and I'm still on the web directory at the end of the day, then I made it another day, beyond that, it's anyone's guess...

We've already had a couple rounds of layoffs, and then some "consolidation of job functions" (wherein people lost their jobs, but it was made clear it was NOT a layoff, and they were told point blank, "don't wait to be called back, go look for another job.")... In the 8 years I've worked here, I've seen lots of layoffs, and I'm still here, but I don't for one second think that means I'm completely safe.
