Let me guess: because that one single solitary person died in New York, everyone now believes they have Swine Flu. Poor Doctors, PAs, RNs, and Registrars. I feel for you all up there. I hope the panic stays away from us this time.

Naw. It's the whole fucking country. We've seen a big jump in people coming into our ER down here in Florida. We're supposed to be in the "off season", but things have been pretty hectic, and it's thanks largely to people coming in complaining of "flu-like symptoms". I've got a buddy out in Arizona who's an RN and he's said about the same. Is there a way to indict the news agencies on counts of attempting to create mass panic? The minute I saw the over produced graphics, ominous music, and fancy fonts on the local news, I knew somebody had died from Swine Flu.

I ma sure thats contributed to it. Sat sun and mon nights were hell in the ER. Sun nights are usualy quiet and I even got slammed. Saw 25 pts on my own sat night in an 8 hr shift, and that included 7 pelvics.

I had a lot of people with "flu like symptoms" last night, I asked our director who we culture and who we just send home. he told me only the ones that look realy fucking sick, those were his exact words so safe to say I didnt swab anybody.

We keep getting them. All of them get fucking irate when they're told to go home and talk to their PMD the next day. Fuck all of you. If you want to die so badly, please do it in the privacy of your own home, not in the ER making everybody trying to help you miserable.

We actualy have had the DOH try to put out notices for these people to stay home, at first it was kind of working but since that guy died the floodgates have opened.

You could always construct a plexy chamber with badly tuned propane torches inside (nice flaring effect) and tell people it's the decontamination chamber and if they think they might have been exposed to swine flu... they have to step through it to be admitted.

Greg! Completely and totally off topic: I used the NEW you sent and it's a nice, aggressive shave. I think a Feather is a little too aggressive in it though. I'm thinking Astra or Derby may be the winning combo.
