Default Damn parking light

i realy need to disable that damn thing, left it on a twork today and drained my battery. fortunatley someone came in and told me about it(not after its been on for about 6 hrs though ) so I will either get a jump, or see if they have a charger here ( I am on a big construction site so they should have something I can use) Or attempt to bump start it. its parked on top of a good sized hill so i got gravity workin for me.

I recall doing push starts on my old 600 I4. that was EASY compared to a paralell twin, which blows goats to push start. I liked that about my CBR.

Some of the new bikes have a position past "lock" that turns on "parking lights" so if you turn the key too far you can easily kill your battery.

My old 1994 Yamaha SecaII had that fucker. Thankfully the weak ass motor could be easily push started UP a a hill.

I want to know who thought it up and why they thought it would be a good idea.

Depends how long you leave it on. If it's only 5-6 hours you should be fine. They're usually tiny-ass bulbs. People in Europe use them quite often.

New bikes? It must be a Canadian thing because I've seen that shit on just about every bike up here. My VF (86) really almost got me with it once because you have to go through park BEFORE the bars lock. I thought I just locked them but really I just turned on the tail lights..
