I don't get the obsession with guns--it's just a tool to me, an appliance. I went camping and people taught me how to shoot and I just didn't see the appeal. Some guys spent the entire weekend shooting.
It is a skill, like any other. Many people don't understand the appeal of a motorcycle. Even more think spending a ton of money and a day dressed in a leather suit to do circles around a track when you are not a professional racer is a waste. What remains is getting a gun, especially for self defense, can be useless or even a detriment if you aren't comfortable using it.

Oh I was a good shot--they were annoyed because I hit every target they put up in one magazine. I just didn't give a shit and had no desire to do it again.

I shot a 9mm of some kind, a .22...and my GF brought a 12-gauge haha

Owning isn't any real trouble. Legally carrying though is a virtual impossibility. I got my restricted weapons cert. prior to the recent changes in the law.

NO gun. No need. But I recognize and respect others right to own them.

You never want to put a gun in a purse with out a holster (to protect the trigger). The gun can also get mixed up with other items in the purse and change positions so it isn't easy to draw when needed.

Steal purse = free gun. Yea!!!!

Here's a good read.

I have a Remington 20ga, Yugo sks, .22L, and a S&W Sigma 9mm.

Got the 20ga when I was 13 or something. Got the sks when I was 18 or something. The .22L is my dad's but I hold onto it. Bought the Sigma two years ago and still have not fired it.

.22 rounds are actually very lethal. The can bounce around inside you and cause ton of damage. They usually dont exit a body and I've always heard a bullet that exits is a lot better than one that stays for dinner. They can also travel super duper fast at super duper distances. Never shoot one off in the air cause it'll hit your neighbor 2 miles away. LOL

Thats not necessarily true, while a .22 does bounce around inside more and and cause more damage sometimes the shell is just left inside if its not interefeing with anything. Sometimes you do more damage going in to get it that the original GSW itself. Besides the bullet is actualy sterile when it enters the body due to the heat build up.
