In the 1918 epidemic, roughly 675,000 Americans died of Spanish Flu. The population of America was about 105,000,000 at the time, so it killed less than 1% of the population. Anyone who states unequivocally that one in 10 Americans would die from a strain of flu that is vulnerable to modern antivirals, even taking into account the massively higher population densities, has been playing football without a helmet far too often.

I'd just like them to change it so that some fucktard people with moderate power don't get the bright idea to ban pork products because of this non-problem. If they fuck with my bacon, Corey Flu will be guaranteed to kill them deader than dead.

the whole thing is stupid. I eat like crap, basically do NOTHING to protect myself from germs and things of that nature and I never get sick. i haven't been to the doctor in probably 20 years. (Unless you count the dentist) I did one time go to the hospital cuz I broke my foot in four places and thats only because they made me go. Am I going to die young of something that could have been prevented... probably but at least I haven't lived my whole life worrying about my blood pressure, or choleserol and the thousand other things the media wants me to be worried about. I think we are making ourselves weaker by hiding behind meds everytime we get a sniffle. Like someone mentioned earlier whats wrong with getting the flu renting a few movies and sleepin it off on the couch! ya it sucks but at least next time around your body has a fighting chance. Im probably just makin stuff up but thats how I feel. LOL

There's already an effort to change the name in the media. Why? Because thousands of pigs were slaughtered in Egypt to prevent the spread of the disease.

Hey yea... I wonder... Well, it seems to be targeting migrants so that should make the "They took our jobs!" crew happy. Fruit picking, dry walling, gardening, kitchen and factory jobs for everyone! YAY!!!
