We bought our 1-story house instead of the 2-story next door because of the problems cooling the upper rooms. Summer sucks ass down here. |

Wow guys, how bout you actually help her with the questions instead of pelting her with stupid comments and questions?!
Heather, I used to have to use these and similar when I was in property management, and we'd borrow them from the office on occasion to use in houses or tents for special events... http://www.amazon.com/NewAir-AC-1200.../dp/B000PGQ8YQ http://www.imarketcity.com/soph12btupoa.html You can find smaller and cheaper units, this is just an idea. You want something with a large drain pan, so you can leave it a few hours without worrying about it flooding over and ruining the floor, etc. And you do want to have it near a window or vent, tho you can get a longer dryer hose, etc to get it vented. You def want wheels too for easier relocation. |

Um...what?
Because I need ONE 140 sq ft room cooled to 65-70 degrees for a few hours at a time. I keep my house around 78 degrees during the summer. I am not going to crank my a/c to cool all 2200 sq ft to that temp for one room. That's as dumb as can be. Even if I insulated better, it's still Texas, it's still a sunny room on the second floor and it would still need to be cooled to 65-70. |

I just don't want to install anything permanent. I want to be able to move it. |
