I live about a mile from NAS JRB, which is cool. But I'm not considering joining really, its my best friend...and I'm kinda trying to talk him out of it because I think he'll be miserable if he gets deployed and his family will suffer. BUT, I'll admit, it does sound like a pretty good deal.

I'm pretty sure all branches are the same for the age limits, under 27 to go active duty and under 35 for Reserves or Guard. I was almost 33 when I went in the AF Reserves.
Kaneman, if your friend is young and doing it more for the service than the benefits (short term) it could be a good deal for him. He really needs to think about it though, like I said the short term benefits aren't much so he needs to be doing it because he's wanting to serve. |
