I would have to agree with that. I thought tazers were supposed to be used in lieu of deadly force, when the officer feels threatened? So if he didn't have a tazer, would he have shot her for yelling at him?

Tasers are now being issued so that cops don't have to bother with issues like decency or human relations.

I don't know that tasering was warranted, but...
When an officer is giving you an instruction, you damn well do it. You don't argue, you don't piss and moan, you don't complain, and you damn sure don't challenge him. Especially over something as stupid as signing a freakin' speeding ticket. I get tired of watching these people rebuff the authority of an officer and then are surprised when they get the smackdown put on them. It's simple. Don't be a dumbass.

To add to that list cops who are too small or too much of a puss to fight. But other than that tasers are great. G-Rex "dont be a dumbass" agreed to the fullest extent.

Tasters have become a tool for generating compliance, rather than the less lethal alternative to a handgun that they were adopted to be. In the use of froce continuum they occupy a space along with baton and pepper spray use (most likely just above them).
For those of you who might remember the incident in the Vancouver Airport, in which a Polish man was Tasered to death, the officer who was in command of that situation is likely to go to prison for a recent drunk driving incident, in which he killed someone. Just a point of interest. Nothing to do with this thread. http://cmgonline.com/content/view/1607/51/
