Chernobyl, Bhopal, BP Gulf disaster all avoidable if the government agencies involved did their duty? Maybe. Maybe the corporations involved should have taken more action and maybe the regulators should have made certain they did. Who made who?
I just have zero confidence in government agencies effectiveness. Are we safe? Or do we want to feel safe?

The Gov just started a new program that's sucks for us home improvement workers. Lead is all the craze now and if a house has it, we have to treat the whole place like a biohazard waste field.
I'm not irritated about cleaning up. I'm irritated that the Gov wants the companies (construction, window installer, etc) to clean up all this shit instead of them that allowed lead to be used on everything. "We need to create jobs" Ok then, create a big ass job and pay willing people with proper protection to start scraping people's houses and not have small companies spend their money/time/health to clean up. |
