The same thing would be me putting a sand paddle on my GSXR, taking it to Glamis and jumping it 300 feet down a sand dune.

9.57 @ 156 according to sportrider, and another unrelated mag had similar numbers, quickest in the comparo of all the '10 bikes (used a 09 for suzi)
great times for a stock bike.

drag racing is just as much about the latest and greatest, lightest and fastest, as any other racing. the busa, and to a certain extent the 14, have more mods available because its a better starting platform than anything else out....til now maybe.

the busa will still be king in certain classes bcuz of its already bigger displacement(doubt u can bore the beemer out too much) but there are a lot of dragbike classes where the lighter weight of the 1000's are better platforms than the busa or 14.

yep

now if someone put some yamaha bodywork on the beemer, you would have one helluva moneymaker for street racing. sleeper!

I'm not knocking drag racing. I've ridden a couple 300+ hp turbo Busa's that had me laughing out loud. I guess where I miss the point is taking a bike like the BMW and limiting it to only going fast in a straight line...

And for the record I may have had a few too many High Life's when I posted that and was having trouble making my brain work...

Doesn't every liter bike break into the 9's though?

I was just saying, from that down to 8.49 is a very substantial improvement, one that would never have happened without that swingarm.

I get it...it has an advanced and powerful motor...but to take such an agile bike...tailor made for the track...and turn it into a drag bike...seems like such a waste.

I mean...what else are you really gonna do with a Busa or ZX-14?

badass, love the way it sounds through the gears.

Nothing excites me like a nice set of curves, but I'll always have love for the dragstrip.
