my boxer went through the same thing a few months back. I honestly think she was just seeing if I would get up with her. after a couple weeks of 2 am "rest stops" she now sleeps all the way through the night again.

I have did the "take him to the vet" thing and F that. He pukes a couple times or has loose poo, take him to the vet and they say "dietary indiscreation" pay $150. F that! Dogs are solid and strong. Control his water for a bit to break the habbit. Then try pushing the water later to like 10 and go from there. Logan just went thru the EXACT same thing abt a month ago. Every night 2-3am have to go out. I tried the SAME thing you did but it never worked. And once Logan gets up Brinks gets up. No brinks who normally sleeps all night no problems is up. Try ignoring 200# of dog!! Now Logan is back to normal and so is Brinks. They get water till about 10-11 at night and go all night till 7am or whatever when I or the wife gets up. Sometimes even then we have to wake them up. Bottom line... they are 4 legged, hairy kids. You must adapt to make them adapt. |

Another reason why my dog lives outside. She can pee and poo whenever she feels like it. BUT she is good enough that she will not have a "accident" in the vehicle or when at my hunting buddies house.
