sportys are cheap, but the fullsize harleys dont really depreciate too much. my pops just sold a 88 for $9000, and it wasnt a rip off

Depends who you ask on that one... The resale is ridiculous on them, but there's a grey area that is rarely discussed... Get any Harley between 3 and 5 years old... Nearly impossible to sell for price relative to something newer or older... Why? Cause techincally it's worth about as much as a new one, but doesn't have a warranty and you get older than 5 years and the price goes down significantly.

Yeah it takes say 10 years for a HD to start gaining or shall I say droppin less on value. The first few years you can easily loose your ass on.

but this being a 84, its pretty cheap if it was out here. id go check it out. if it was earlier in the summer, if it was decent try and get it for 4, 4.5, put 500 in it and flip it for 6500 easily. getting close to winter, not a great time to be selling

The trick or downfall of even customizing it... is that all it really does is make up for the depreciation. For example... The BDM used bikes that sold for $30 sell now for about $20. Now take mine... I got about 50 into it, and could sell it for about 30.

It is a 83 FXRS which is a full sized harley not a sportster. It has the 1330 evo engine which is a rubber mount engine to cut down on vibration. it has custom bars newer tank and updated gauges. I am lookin for something for cruising not racing so I think i'll pick it up.... If I were looking for a bike to take to the GAP I would never buy this but I am gettin older so I think this may be a good transition for me.
here are better pics
