All of you "put it in neutral and turn the key off" people realize that the tranny is fly-by-wire and won't go into neutral over 35 mph and there is no key to turn off, right?

That guy did apply brakes, by the time the police got to him, they were smoked up. They eventually slowed him down by putting their car in front him and got him to turn the engine off.
