But, this movie having been made, which by all appearences makes him seem like someone who made a real and positive contribution to the world, goes right along with the tabloid news/reality show worshipping culture we unfortunately are living in.

I'm interested in seeing how they portray his life. There are lots of people I'd like to see a movie made about...but not all of them happen. NO way in hell will I be going to the theatre but if the opportunity to see this comes up I'll probably watch it.

Did you see Walk the Line? No one was saying this about that movie yet essentially they are very similar.

And how do you figure what he did has no value or meaning? Music (any kind...yes ANY kind) has value and meaning. Maybe you don't agree with that but I think it does. There are kinds of music that I seriously dislike (not hate but dislike) but that doesn't mean that they don't have value.

Let's see, Johnny Cash wasn't a welfare baby. Johnny Cash served in the military. Johnny Cash didn't sell drugs in his neighborhood. Johnny Cash didn't get shot by a rival country singer. And Johnny Cash is an award-winning singer and songwriter who people have been honored to have their songs remade by. Not the same thing at all, and a big fail for you.
