You do know it takes about a 120" TV for the normal human eye to be able to see a real difference between 1080i and 1080p. The differences you think you are seeing between the two comes from other factors like contrast and speed. 720p on a great TV is about all you really need in picture size, having better other factors is more important.

Nice TV no doubt...I must have missed the thread that spurned this one though.
We enjoy and have zero issues with our Samsung 46" LCD...no it's not an LED but it sure rocks. We have BluRay as well and enjoy it. I even like my little 20" in the garage...it's also hooked up to DirecTV. Tig do you have a TV in your garage...I mean you do have a garage right ? Oh yeah...I don't have a Harmony remote so I may have to look into that...there is 4 or 5 remotes on my table right about now. Last edited by z06boy; 11-30-2009 at 10:07 AM.. |

A quick note on the Harmony remotes. Yes they work well and remove a lot of remote clutter but if you are using a PS3 for your bluray player it will not work without an additional adapter (MSRP $59).

To me the Harmony thing makes sense only if you just bought all your gear. But if you've had your shit for quite some time and you're already familiar with your remotes, why waste time learning & setting up something new.

is the 8000 Samsung model the 3/4" thin one?
i was debating between that sumsung and the LG 55" LED, and went with the LG for the matte screen, and back lit (over edge lit) technology. it is fucking beautiful. oh i got the harmony One remote ($175) working everything, including the PS3 - (yes the PS3 adapter was needed).
