Im pretty sure, in Canada at least, on or off duty, when your in uniform or a patrol car, you are held to the standards of a police officer. |

If anyone on here tried the same thing they'd be in jail. It's ok though, they're cops.

4-5 beers over how long of a period? 2 hours? Yeah you'd be fine to drive home. The story doesn't doesn't specify how long they had been at the bar. Drinking casually amongst friends at a bar it's reasonable to say the 2-3 drinks an hour is a normal pace. So at 4-5 beers over 2 hours, you would still be sober. Especially if it was something like bud light or miller light. You can drink a 12 pack of that and still not get buzzed.

The typical male body will process 1 drink per hour. Anything above that takes you away from sobriety. While you may not "feel it" or cross the legal limit, you are not sober. If you can drink a 12-er of anything and not get buzzed then, I'd make sure you are covered for a future liver transplant.

What about the folks who aren't alcoholics or boozers? Would it be alright for a light weight to take tax payer provided property\equipment and let anyone bang-able play around with it? Many counties allow state employees (such as councilmen and police officers) to use state\county property (tax payer funded vehicles and all the expensive equipment added on to the upgraded Crown Victoria ) as transportation to and from work.... NOT for personal use. |
