I agree.

Hopefully less than 6 months for part one though.

Junk punch. You can never have enough cameras! I've got a sony P&S thats crappin out on me, and a great Canon DSLR but as much hiking and outdoor stuff as we do, I want something lightweight, as clumsy as I am I need something sturdy and with the cruise and other trips we plan on, waterproof is perfect!

Well then how about a waterproof case for an existing camera?

No kidding. At this point people wouldn't likely recognize me if I wasn't carrying a camera. I just gave one of my (3) DSLRs to my sister and bought this:

Looked at that, would be viable option if the Sony I have wasnt 5 years old and crapping out on me, getting the DS10 saves me the trouble of getting a new camera AND a waterproof case. I dont trust one with my nicer camera and its not as portable.

I already have what I want - Sidi Vortice boots, a new TV, and a new lens for my Nikon D80. For my family, we buy gifts for the kids only [thank god]. And, I have NO idea what to get for my sister's kids - 13-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy... homeschooled, freak-me-out type kids.

Chi - I have THIS camera and LOVE it. LOVE LOVE it... http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_se...p?product=1448

Not much bigger than a compact and uses interchangeable lenses like a DSLR. Pretty much my perfect walk-around camera. I'll likely pick up the manual lens adaptor and a few old OM-mount manual lenses. for it.

As for the looks, "Welcome to 1966!"

Well unfortunately I already know what my big gift is from my wife. I found out by accident but she is getting me a blu ray player. My in-laws already gave us there gift while they were in town. So the only things I'm waiting on are presents from my kids and my parents.
