I think you'll find that's a Delta issue. NWA was always good to me. In fact, when I booked a flight using miles last year over Thanksgiving and the weather left us stuck in Memphis overnight, they not only comp'd the room and got me out 1st thing the next day but completely refunded all the mileage I used to 'pay' for the entire original flight with a letter of apology for my trip. All that and the only call I made was to get the flight re-booked. Delta however, sucks balls. They don't care at all.....I flew every week for years and have always hated Delta & US Air...

Coming back from Vegas we got diverted to Pittsburg for gas while waiting for Dulles traffic to clear . At least United gave me $100 for my troubles.

GM,
I spoke to the wife. You are just shit out of luck. The wife said ALL airlines do this all the time and you will not get any compensation from it. What probably happened was that Delta/NW probably did not fill up either flight and they combined both of them together. Airplanes have to fly at 77% capacity to break even. Since all airlines do this AND you live in Detroit area which is a hub for NW, they know you will eventually fly with them at some point. The wife also said that the price of the seat goes by seat availability not by the number of stops or in your case a lack thereof stops. The nonstop flight you booked had more seats booked hence the higher price. The flights started out at the same price so that is their justification for not compensating you. I know it's bullshit, but you won't win this fight with them. You can boycott NW all you want but again, you will eventually use them again due to your proximity of a major NW hub. |

Oh well. I will boycott them and that will be it. Besides we dont fly that much. Most typical flight is DTW to Tampa, FL. |
