Yeah, I grew up in Lansing and now live in Marshall, MI. I used to ride around Lansing and East Lansing area every weekend with some trips to Detroit and Flint.
Every now and then we would do some real dumb late night trips to GR or South Haven WFO. Man I'm lucky to still be alive. A photo from back in the day, if you rode with me I was more than likely in those leathers and helmet. Last edited by HRCNICK11; 12-11-2008 at 09:40 AM.. |

I think that the KTM Adventure edges out the Tuono by just a hair. Before that my favorite was the ancient Ducati 750 PASO way, way, way back in the days.

I've owned only 2 bikes. One was a 1994 Yamaha SecaII. The other a 1996 Honda CBR600 F3 that I basically rebuilt from crashed. I love the F3 but the SecaII was such a fun little bike. Slow as hell but just a fun little bike. I plan to get another SecaII one day. I wish I had my old one but the person who bought it wrecked it... 4 times.
I did like riding my buddy's RC51. Everytime you wacked the throttle it was like getting raped in the ass! Infact his girlfriend got a ZZR600 for her first bike. She rode his RC51 one time and she wouldn't give it back.

The low end power of that thing was just so awesome it'd scare the hell out of me and I'd just be hanging on for the ride. Basically the bike was fucking me the whole time I was riding it.

I loved the motor on my RC51 but never trusted the suspension and I would get cramps in my hip and my wrist and back would get sore.
The front suspension was great in that when you made a adjustment you could feel just a few clicks. It was bad in that I always felt like I was just waiting to lose the front. It just never felt planted. That may have been the stiff chassis more than the suspension. I used to call my RC51 stable mable cause it took a lot to turn it and it hated tight corners. Loved the large sweaping corners, like a on-ramp. It was made for the large tracks of europe and thats what it was good for. |

Sorry it took me so long to get back in here.
The 1100 is an '88. It's ugly as hell right now, but runs great. The thing really is a torque monster. Once I deal with the bodywork and suspension, it should be an awesome bike.

A tie ....for a real stomach churning acceleration sensation, my 05 Busa ....BUT my old Gixxer 750 was way more fun for tossing around in the corners.

For Streetbikes my favorites have been my '98 Honda VTR1000 Superhawk and my 2001 Honda Valkyrie Interstate.
Track bikes, My favorite is my old 2001 R1. Should've never parted it out. That bike was dialed in and I felt everything on it. My new '05 R1 I cant seem to bond with and I've been riding it for three years. I'm having the suspension redone and resetup before next season. If that doesnt work it's gone... |
