I'm not a gear nazi. I just thought it was funny that you were insisting she wear jeans. I just meant that if that's all you're going to insist on, you might as well just let her wear the shorts.

Eh, but what do I know . . . it takes me 10 years to rack up 6k miles on my bike apparently.

I try to stay away from beaches in general. I am not a fan of sand.

Okay, jeans are better than nothing, I know this from personal experience. You are plain stupid if you think otherwise... A decent denim jean has been tested to perform rather well in abrasion tests and has been protecting biker's lower halves for almost 100 years. Not to mention cowboys, construction workers, etc. I take it you ALWAYS wear a leather suit to ride...good for you! I didn't notice a chest protector, a neck brace or knee braces on the guy in your avatar... I guess the gear thing only applies to sport bike riding right?

As far as how many miles you put on...(well, I hope that you have something other than a WR)... I wouldn't know but I do know that if I only rode when conditions were right (in my opinion, of course) to wear a full leather suit, I wouldn't get much riding done living here. I'm not going out in 90 deg temps wearing a leather suit...

Your girlfriend has great legs!

I ride in jeans all the time and in fact just had a buddy crash in jeans that held up VERY well. NOt saying they're great, just saying they're not as bad as shorts or something.
