Building a house is a painful experience, I will skip that shit. Plus, now that I am moving way before I wanted to, I won't take that risk in building a custom til I retire and won't be moving around anymore.

It is a PITA but I will have a kickass garage when I get done. That's what I care about

Everyone I know that built custom said that it was worth it. I think the process of picking out a already made house is painful especially when what you want doesn't exist.

It exists, trust me. I'm about as picky as you can get and I have found everything that I could want in a home more than once. I don't own those houses though. That would take a few extra zeros in the net worth category.

Well part of what I want is a price tag I can afford. So no...they don't exist. |

I told my mother in law while we were cleaning the new place before the move in I will be my builders worst nightmare.
Between my OCD and and anal retentiveness, if I'm paying money for it, it better damn well be perfect and exactly what I told them I wanted. We're already compiling the dream list so when we retire and build they wont have to worry about whether or not I know what I want. I was standing in my new living room last night and noticed the shelves and cabinet doors are off kilter, by 1/4 of an inch. Then I had to break out the tape measure just to make sure I wasnt hallucinating. Oh yeaaaah, my builder will LOVE me. |
