It's about impulse control, either in the last 4 years while you hated your job, you go find a new one, or you live with it for a few more weeks while you get a new one lined up.

Now, it seems that there's more to the story, and maybe Tracey was asked to do something that wasn't proper, which does change it some. But from the side comments, that had happened before, which gets back to he had 4 years to find another job.

From what I remember (I could be wrong. I'm sure it will happen some time) but he has been looking since last year.

I don't think it was an impulse. My guess would be that he thought it out a bit.

And I agree that if anyone else is thinking of quitting their job, they should look for and find one first. It could save some headaches.
