Unless you're buying crap, firearms are a major investment. Also, many of us attach sentimental value to some our guns (like the first hunting rifle my dad got me).

I'd take the guns because
A: I don't want rounds going off while the house is burning B: I don't want any fire, police, public service or government agency messing with them because I may not get them back or used in their records. My guns = my business C: If they DONT burn, I still would like their use for defense or fun despite being temporarily homeless. D: The investment comes last because I bought them for other things, however in the post-apocalypse, guns and fuel will be the best monetary system we could have. :P |

Hell ya the guns are coming. What else in your house you can sell and make quad digits off of so you put some money down on an apartment or a car if need be? What if youre trying to get away from tye fire and you get caught in it. Those family photos arent going to let you take yourself out before being engulfed by the flames.

Family pics aren't going to pay the bills that you still gotta pay even if your house is a pile of ash. They're not gonna give a fuck if your homeless.

Well...IMO, the amount of guns some of you have is more of a hobby and a keep up with the Jones' than self defense. IF you were to put that money into savings instead of guns, then you would have that money in a case as such. Right?

I have a 9mm, 12g from my fiance's father and his hunting rifle. The 9mm is for defense/fun, the other two are "heirloom" material. If I have a few minutes to really collect the things that are important, that makes the top of the list. Besides, what are the odds the BOTH of us will be home to haul out my big screen tv? I'll take a check for that, but I can't get a check for some antiques. Quote:

And all of that is contingent upon that fact that we are home and able to grab anything...
If we were home, then like he said, firebox of important papers, pets, and guns. After that we'll see what there's time for. I love my bikes but I can buy new bikes easier than replacing all of my clothes and pictures so a suitcase of stuff would be next...then we'll see about bikes. |
