I actually have been giving this thing a bunch of thought, I've been considering buying a netbook as a replacement for my 17" laptop (yeh I thought it would be portable). I think this might do the trick for me, but I'm not really sure. I like apple products, though I'm not a super fan, I own a 5th gen Ipod, and old shuffle.
Here is my problem. Conectivity. I travel alot, and thats really what I want it for, and probably half of the hotels I visit dont have in room wireless, instead they run a cat line. Will I have to start carrying a wireless router? Any netbook or laptop i would consider buying would have to have wired conectivity. It seems like s good idea, but the more i think about it, I am liking HP's or the notion ink slates. The notion ink version already sounds more appealing because of it's OS, Android. The Dell mini and the archos 7 both run android. In fact if the Archos 9 ran android I might consider buying it now, I just don't see windows being a good touch based OS. As it stands now I think I will wait and see how it all pans out after each device is released

Yeh i probably wouldnt get the data plan. I'm not saying definately no, but I would rather pay for a data plan on my phone than on a tablet. the tablet is something to use at the end of the day in my hotel room. Plus 3g is really to slow for my tastes for casual web browsing, I just have never been impressed by it.

I ran into the same problem with wireless connectivity with my iPhone overseas, before I got an international data plan. I've pondered picking up an airport express since it's pretty tiny for a wireless router, and works as an iPod/iPhone charger too. From what I hear, the iPhone/iPad will never support Flash, so I wouldn't hold my breath for that. |

Is it hard for a device to be programed to support flash?
