You are stupid! You need a calibration disc to do it right! Some blue ray movies come with the programming on them or I believe that you can burn one off the net. Trying to use someone else's calibration settings is as smart as trying to use a different guy's suspension settings. They may get you close but they aren't going to be perfect for you and your viewing situation. There are multiple factors involved, including but not limited to, room lighting, viewing angle, viewing distance, source material, etc. Oh but I'm sure that you knew that, right?

Yeah, I know what a calibration disc is. Can you read at all? I stated using such settings are a good starting point to work from. The info I gave was for the benefit of others in here; I already know you are hopeless. Keep on spending your money

Depends on 2 things:
1) first does it have any moving parts or other things that commonly break?
2) are you really going to hold onto it more than 2 years or so? You seem like the kind of person who wants the latest stuff all the time, so.....

I mean seriously.....I see people getting the service plan on something like a a cellphone or mp3 player......Which is a joke IMO because only a year later they're itching to buy a new one anyway.

This is a good start - you can use suggested posted settings for a given set (such as these) and fine tune the settings to your liking. In the end, it's up to the viewer to decide what looks best.

I tried the settings listed for my tv. I like it better without their settings.

Marko, rent "Up", I believe that is has a optimizer section in it's menu. I used it to set my TV when I got it. Be prepared to spend about 20 minutes or so, depending on how picky you are.
