Our local dealer brought one to the last trackday and put a few laps on it.
It looks like a fun "ride all day" bike.

I don't think it will do any better than the old one. It's too uncomfortable (more like a sportbike) and not a BMW to compete with the GS. Plus it's a chain drive, so the shaft people won't want it. It's performance as a dual sport adventure bike is nowhere near the KTM, so performance minded people will rather go KTM.

The standings that I have found on it only shows that 4 people raced in the 1200cc class. Two Ducatis and two buells. Last edited by Trip; 07-09-2010 at 01:28 PM.. |

"The 1,205cc field admittedly wasn't terribly competitive-- a Buell XBSTT finished second a full 49 seconds later, another Multistrada piloted by Alexander Smith scored third, and a Buell S1 Lightning came in fourth-- but given the "Race on Sunday, sell on Monday" ethos, this 1-3 podium finish can't be a bad thing thing for Ducati."
Yeah, finishing 1st and 3rd is not really that big of achievement when there is four bikes in the field... I could of at least got a top 5 on my GS. LOL |

Well they, meaning Ducati, talked it up. Personally I find the do it all concept neat but the bike expensive and ugly. I would much rather have say a monster 796 and an 848 to hit the majority of my riding on the head.

I think someone wired me funny, because I want that bike like a fat kid wants cake. Must be genetic, because my grandfather got one of the last few Ducatis to be imported to Brazil back in the day (1963-ish).
