Suspension Lowering
I have a Buddy whoo after years of lumbering around on Various New Harley's sold his Ultra and went and bought a Himself a GSX 650 F . He is as he describes it . "Inseam Challenged" I haven't done much with Suspension but he needs to lower the bike about an inch. Is there any particular good reason to by the more expensive lowering links vs the solid links. Anyone have a recommendation?

No matter what he decides, after having it lowered go and have the suspension professionally set up so he gets the very best handling out of the bike. May also want to consider having some foam shaved out of the seat instead...

Not sure what you mean with solid vs. more expensive links. They all serve the same purpose. I even made my own from Home Depot bar stock steel.

I'm guessing by more expensive links you mean these
You can make a pair for $25-30 if you buy your own heim joints and threaded rod. the ones in the picture probably cost $70-200. Unless you really need to fine tune your suspension and ride height you are better off looking for the multi hole solid dogbones like this one.

For just an inch I would look into shaving the seat first.
