Checked Amazon and some are selling for about the same price there. The site says that it needs to be mounted at least 12 inches away from other GPS systems. Using the handlebar mount I could have it exactly 12 inches from my GPS mount, but that's the farthest I could go unless I try to mount it to one of the side luggage racks (although I don't know that it would have a full view of the sky and I'm not completely sure it would fit, not to mention reaching the buttons wouldn't be easy). Thoughts?

I think it's a neat idea. They have the Spot Connect which blue toothes with your smart phone. But what I don't like is the yearly service fees.
