IOS6 vs IOS5
I finally upgraded from my 3 year old dumb phone to a smart/educated phone. I got the Iphone 4s. Mainly because it was the only smart phone that felt like a phone and not a mini-laptop that could maek calls. So far I like it. I've already asked Siri every dumb or perverted question I could ask it and now am moving on to other stuff.
Well the settings thing has that stupid "1" that won't go away and it annoys me. It wants me to do the IOS6 crap. I looked into it and seems like IOS6 is pretty nice. I think allowing Siri to put every dumb thought that pops into your head on twitter and facebook is pretty cool and will help ensure that I won't be able to run for President in the future. My main concern is the loss of Google Maps. Does Apple maps suck that much? Is Google working on a Google Map app? Do people feel it's worth updating to IOS6?

I'm not an Apple guy, but someone told me Google already released a new map that works with IOS6. A few Google searches should let you know if my source is full of it or not.

Apple maps is not great, but it is good enough for most things. Don't expect it to be spot on accurate for everything.

Google did release an app, but all your other apps defer to Apple maps. So if you Yelp a place and ask directions, you get sent to Apple maps. It really sucks.

Google did not release an app. They have a web version you can access through safari. There is not an official google maps app for iOS. There is a third party app that will give you access to google maps and operates almost exactly like the iOS5 maps app, but is a lot slower.

I have no complaints about Apple's maps app. I think the gripes are very overblown.
