Default Ducati Multistrada S Touring

Was thinking of picking one of these up.

I like the look even though it is a bit funky. 150hp in a detuned 1198 engine, with a bike that's supposedly 4 bikes in 1 seems like a really good deal.

I've seen quite a few reviews and how it stacks up against the super tenere and the bmw 1200gs. Any real world reviews from people here?

I got a 10% raise at work and couldn't think of a better way to spend it to get back into motorcycling.

Interested in your opinions.

Fucking YES!!! Would love to own that bike. From members in my D.O.C I've heard it doesn't stack up too well against the Super Tenere and KTM Dakar 990 in the "adventure" category due to a few things. Smaller front wheel, slick tires, high center of gravity, tons of plastic. Or even the Beemer for that matter. But it does make a monster touring bike with a superbike mill strapped to it, with some very light adventure on the side.

And yes, before anybody says it... I definitely the Ducati koolaid.

I'm not looking to do too much adventure riding with it. Only to cut through some dirt trails to get to other roads maybe. Mostly just for going through the twisties in comfort and commuting to work which is 150 miles round trip. Especially since out here in long island - it's illegal for me to go anywhere off-road except on someones private property that I have explicit permission before hand.

For this you don't need Trip's definition of a "real" ADV bike.

I am not trying to make you get the BMW, don't really care what you get. Get what you want because you have to be happy with your choice.

Just discussing bikes, because it doesn't happen here much anymore lol.

Oh come on, you know the strata isn't even good in gravel. Hell you could put the same tires on a sportbike and get some high clip ons and get the same result lol...

It shouldn't be in the adv category. It's a great sport tourer though.

It's a sport touring bike that some how got lumped in the adventure category. Good for road but bad for off.
