Gas dryer question
I'm having a problem with my gas dryer. It just started recently. I wasn't planning on taking it to my new house, but my roommates were gonna buy it off me so they would be set after we left.
Anyways, it's taking two to three cycles to get the clothes dry, regardless of the amount of clothes. I'll open it up in the middle of a cycle and there's definitely some heat going on in there. I'm wondering if there's some kind of fan or something that's not working. Like, just a bunch of heat going in and nothing else. Any of you guys have any ideas?

Sounds like it is clogged with lint. Clean the lint trap and make sure the exhaust tube isn't blocked either.

We clean the lint trap regularly, maybe it's the flex pipe that's clogged, I'll have to check it in a bit.

A nice, fat ball of lint in the flex pipe. Hopefully that's what it was. Drying a load now...

That was probably the problem. The exhaust vent should be cleaned annually.

I see you found the heat problem but please check something else for safety's sake.
Check the lint filter for flow by running water thru it. Certain brands of softener imped air flow by making the screen openings smaller. If the water beads instead flowing thru, wash it with a grease cutting dish detergent. Jeff |
