America's Scariest Roads
... and you know we're all going to read this to see where we need to take our bikes next. Just one of the reasons I love the motorcycle community. Reminds me of a trip with my friend Sean when he said "is it bad that I was happy to see the 'high accident area ahead' sign?"
http://travel.yahoo.com/p-interests-...WizC4aPWMazJV4 How many of these have you ridden? I've done Deal's Gap, but apparently need to bring my bike out west. And pull a trailer full of gas for the road in Alaska. |

If you go to the forbes article the picture of the the gap is not the gap at all. The gap has one guard rail on it besides the overlook ones. That has two in one curve. Defintely not the gap.

"honey slow down and look at the colors" I think I found a "calling": Moki Dugway (Utah) Named after a Spanish term for the Pueblo Indians (“mokee”) who once lived in this area, the Moki Dugway is a spectacular switchback stretch of State Highway 261 in southern Utah. Plunging off Cedar Mesa, the narrow gravel road drops 1,100 feet in just three miles as it snakes its way down into the Valley of the Gods. Moki Dugway is part of the “Trail of the Ancients” National Scenic Byway.

I have to agree with one of them for sure.
Highway 1 / Big Sur - Very scary! The wind is unbelievable up there. We stopped to take pictures, and literally, one of us had to stand there and hold both bikes to make sure the wind didn't pick them up off the kickstand. Nevermind it's 2 lane and packed with RVs. The Haul Road to Prudhoe Bay is on my list! I WILL ride that road! And Dan, don't need a full trailer, just one 5 gallon jug. I've already done the math. The longest stretch between fuel stops is 280 miles. I can swing 180 to 200 on the Busa, so carrying 5 gallons should give me enough additional range.

True, it is pretty long, straight and flat. So the road itself isn't scary it's all the dipshit touristas that come down for the weekend and camp on the side of the road that don't know how to fucking drive.
