Default Looked at a Kanatuna today

Was on my way to pick up my daughter at daycare and saw a yellow Kanatuna 600 sitting in someones yard with a for sale sign. Stopped and looked it over. It's an 02 w/ just under 10k miles on it. Looks like it's been driveway dropped on each side. Nothing broken, just scratched up. Tires were dry-rotted. He had a list of "new" items on it, but can't remember what they all were. I remember rear brake pads and clutch cable, but the list was about 5 or 6 items. He was asking $3k, firm. If I could have haggled, I might have considered it, but I don't think it's worth my time. I need to remember that I want to buy a house first... But dammit, I want a bike, even to the point of looking at a lame Kanatuna...

Look at a used yzf600r then. A little bit quicker, better looking and still in the same price range.

3 grand is your limit? Start looking here. Best place to find cheap ass bikes imo, start checking early in the morning, especially on weekends, deals go really quick.

Well, I don't really KNOW what my limit is. I just hate being without a bike. I go through this so often it's not funny. I can't even tell you how many bikes I've looked at this year. I don't usually post about it. I think the only reason I posted about this one is that I'm stunned that I even stopped to look at the bike. I had a Katana for my first "sport" bike. It was a decent bike, but hell, the Ninja 250's were just as fast as this fat ass 600. I think if I were going to spend 3 grand on a bike this slow, I'd just fly out to Vegas and buy DLit's 250 that he's been trying to sell. But I know that I shouldn't buy a bike. I want to, but I shouldn't. At least not right now...

Katana?? Don't do that to yourself, man. Holdout for an actual sportbike.

Just buy a goddamn bike. Any bike. You'll be much happier.

Terre Haute. I work an hour and a half away right now. I only work 3 days a week, but they're 12 hour days. I spend the other 4 days at my parent's house and have my daughter those 4 days. Driving back and forth, gas prices being what they are, I can't really afford a house. Yes, a bike would greatly help on gas money, but it would take a couple years to get all that money back out of it. If we had a longer riding season, I could more easily justify it.

Yeah, I know. Believe, me, I know.

Well, I will be and I won't be. I'll be happy that I have a bike, but unhappy that I spent money I really didn't have to spend.

For three grands? Sorry but I'd buy me up a used SV650 before I'd touch a Katana.

PS I thought that the late 1980s early 1990s Katana was the coolest thing ever.
