Does it have stereo bluetooth? The older Ericsson I have doesn't (but then it was already outdated when I bought it)
Most phones have 5-8MP cameras now. The one I carried before this one had 10MP.

The X1 does have stereo bluetooth though. It also lets you choose 5 audio quality settings for power consumption, but I haven't done a good comparison between them yet.

You must mean "most high-dollar phones".

MOST phones only have 2 MP cameras. Hell, the Nokia N96, which is probably a better phone than this Sony, only has 5 MP.

Never heard of a phone with 10 MP. Samsung maybe?

No, mid-tier phones. But many of the phones I've worked on never make it to the US.

Sony Ericsson has a line of Cybershot phones that are very popular in Europe, China, and Japan. More than one is available with a 10MP camera.

We're always the last to get good phones, and often, when we do, they're fucking crippled in some way, or Verizon has chosen to charge for EVERY FUCKING FEATURE a la carte.

I was just in Brazil, and they have a new Samsung 820 that gets streaming HDTV...free, OTA.

Of course, we'll NEVER see that, because our TV standard doesn't have part of the bandwidth allocated for portables like Brazil and Japan do with their HD standard.

I remember for years Europeans had H4 lights on their cars, and we had to suffer with sealed beams.

We always get the shit end of the stick.

^ You aren't kidding. If you bring the latest and greatest US phone overseas, expect to get questions like "what is that?" and "that still works?!".

Between which phones? All of them?

Verizon, AT&T, or TMO?

I've got the Blackberry Pearl with AT&T. I love the phone but I've had a lot of problems with AT&T. My friend Cathy just got the new Blackberry that just came out and she LOVES it!
