My kid's been going to school with lunch money since kindergarten. Granted was only 1.25 and now up to 1.90 this year. Some parents send their kid with money for the whole week so maybe he had 5 bucks or something, but like someone else said....at that age 50 cents seems like a million bucks so maybe the kid doing the robbing thought he hit the jackpot.

People always say, "Back in the day, this never used to happen." It did. You just never heard about it. How often did the media talk about what happened in some podunk Iowa town when you were a kid? Now it's headlining the national news.
People also say that things like Columbine never happened when they were kids. They did. How many of you here have ever heard the name Michael Slobodian? Back in 1975 he walked into a school, that was a few miles away from my house, with a guitar case full of daddy's guns and started shooting the place up. Our Premier's daughter was in the school at the time. That's like your Governor's kid being there. He killed 2 and wounded a dozen or more, then capped himself. But I bet that you've never heard of it. Most Canadians I ask haven't. The point is that the world hasn't really changed much from "the old days", but media has. |

Spork FTW.
"undisclosed" - that means it actually COULD have been two quarters. Very little shocks me anymore....
