Nah... not warm... lots of freezing ice and crap... sucks...

But been getting some more work done... summary of the last couple days

Neighbor, Sgt, came over and did all the copper soldiering for us. I laid it out but he did all the assembly with soldiering. It turned out good. The 2 caps on either side of a joist is where the old lines were. They got capped and we ran a new T and lines to the new cabinet. Test ran water thru them and the new PVC drain, no leaks.

Then with the newly stripped off butcher block top off the old dishwasher (probably fake) put on top of the cabinet in the basement that had just a plywood top. Looks much better I think.

Then got the toe kicks installed including the custom one below the buffet table, with the heat vent cut out of that. Then we put the quarter round down and covered the heat duct with a new vent.

You can also see that we did the toe kick by the sink base and dishwasher section. Got that all finished with quarter round as well. Turned out GREAT!!!

Also, poped off the trim under the front window sill. Because there will be a granite backsplash under the marble sill. Totally Custom.

Then today we got the sofet extended and put the 45* angle to the corner. All with the same reveal. It will end up looking great. Just needs some sanding, more mud, some tape, sanding, mud, sanding, primer, paint.

Will work more on the sofet tomry and dry wall work. On the home stretch for sure. I can feel it... at this point, its just a project a day while we wait on granite.

Nice work. Wanna come down to Indiana and help me next? My only problem is that I'm running out of money. Need to get a second job, but then won't have the time to do the work. Guess I'll just have to be like you and not get any sleep.

I knew I'd have to spend "some" money on things, but didn't expect to find mice in my mattress, nor did I expect the water softener in the house to be shot. Do I NEED soft water? Frankly, yes. Terre Haute water is by far the hardest water around. So I shelled out the money to get a new water softener. That's quite a bit of money that was going to be used for tile, microwave and dishwasher, that I no longer have. So, I guess the kitchen will retain the nasty carpet for awhile and a shitty microwave and no dishwasher. I'm still going to tile the bathroom and entry to the house.

Where are you looking for the granite? I'm thinking of putting granite in my kitchen. I might go with Corian though since its a solid surface and won't hold bacteria like granite will.
