Default Touring Gear

To make life easier on the road, you gotta have the right tools, and you need to bring those tools along somehow, here is a list of some gear that i find useful while on the road, feel free to post your touring setup

and on the pig they dont get that hot even though they are closer then the 2 inch gap they suggest

also a mulit tool is nice to have in case the unexpected happens, like a long line of decoys flies out of the boat about five cars ahead of you and gets wrapped up in your rear tire and belt

spiderwebs aka cargo nets are also very useful to have, i think we have atleast three per bike cause they are always in the way unless you need them and then they are no where to be found

I have the exact same Cortech saddle bags. They actually hold quite a lot of stuff. You can get a 12 pack of canned beer in each one.. Although I wouldn't recommend it just because of the weight.

I love my cortech tank bag but the tail bag failed catastrophically on me!! At 120+ the bungee came undone and lodged between my rear tire and my swing arm. By some miracle I didn't crash. But it tore off the can on one side and the bag was completely unusbale as were a good number of my clothes that were inside of it. (sorry - crappy pics on old cell phone)

yeah that's what I was think'n... but it may be the route I'm headed... I'll need something to hold my 17" laptop... and I'm think'n when the tail bag (the one drewpy has) expands... only the side pockets get bigger... not the main compartment...

the main compartment expands not just the side, and the tank bag works fine, the nice thing is its comfy to lay on

could you fit a 17" laptop in the tail bag you have? that's gonna be the deciding factor for me.

oh... and where did you get your tank bag again? I thought you said Iron Pony but it's not on their site
