I was about to ask where it was posted. If VS/CF hadn't made all the photographers on the forum worry about their intellectual property by locking the old posts, making it impossible to retain control of their own work, then people might feel better about putting stuff up there.

Nope, they were posted as attachments. Learnt my lesson on that one. If I had posted hotlinked from my server, then I could have just script blocked their url.

that sucks.
how about threatening them, tell them they have to delete all of your post. one of the guys that was booted shortly after I was sent the admin/owner emails saying that he was going to get a lawyer if they didn't remove all of his post. they did it. |

For now I'm just keeping an eye on things. I posted the pictures for the forum to see and as long as they are only used there, I have no issues. I don't have much trust of corporate internet strip-miners though.

If you're using a Windows based PC give this a try:
- open up a "DOS window" (command prompt, whatever you want to call it) from the Start/Programs/Accessories group - type in "ipconfig" then press < enter >; note the IP address - type in "ipconfig -release"; it should drop your IP address - leave the system for a while, say a half hour, then go back and type in "ipconfig -renew"; see if the IP address that you get is different than the previous one IP ban at an end
