Pensacola to Key West and Back = 1900 miles in Florida
I decided about a month ago that this semester is school was making me want to go postal. The plan was the day after I finished my last final I was going to get on the Uly and ride down to Key West and bar hop for a few days, and that's what I did. My little bro and dad came with.
Here's the summary. Left at 5am, rain for the first 4 hours, car turns left, lock up front and rear in the rain, saved it, flat roads ^5, sleep at folks house, ride to key west, alcohol, alcohol, alcohol, ride to Orlando, alcohol, ride to Pensacola, rain, rain, rain. home. I'll put up some pics and give a better ride report. But I will say that the Ulysses is a great touring bike. 1900 miles in 4 days, and feel great. Last edited by SteveP; 12-14-2009 at 01:15 PM.. We did Destin to Daytona to Key West a couple of years ago. The Bridge Ride. The roads are ramrod straight but the bridges were great. I don't want to do that ride again.
I'm looking forward to your pics and ride report though. Bring 'em on! |

Rode from NC to Key West back in 2003 on the bird (961 miles) but had to stop in miami for the night due to traffic. Couldn't get an iron butt anyway since it wasn't long enough
Can't wait to hear more!

Can't wait to see more pics! I enjoyed Key West on 4th of July in 2006 when I went! You missed out not stopping to hang with the SoFla crew! Good bunch of people, regardless of how they act on here. LOL
And Troy, the Key West marker sure did get in a lot worse shape in just 3 years. Were the planters behind me there when you were there?
