Default First race

So my kid had his first CCS race on the "big bike" this weekend, and here's what we learned:
1.The SV seems to be a perfect tweener bike (for us). As fast or faster than the minis, but not as fast as a 600cc SS bike. Many classes locally, so plenty of seat time available. Also way cheaper on maintenance than a 125GP bike.
2. Vintage bikes are cool and all, but they are still as ornery and difficult as I remember. Loud, uncomfortable, smoke ing beasts. Still awesome, just not my first choice of track weapon.
3. SV's make a surprisingly capable off road bike for short jaunts (if you get the speed just right when going off course).
