85ish today with 80% humidity. Now, thunderstorms and tornado's. Got about 3/4" of rain in 10 min, heard there were highline poles ripped out and thrown onto the highway 4 miles south, and tons of trees down.

Pups are safe w/me down in the basement, listening to the sump pump run every 5 min or so.

Hope you have a battery backup sump. We just bought one a few months back, and it takes the worry out of torrential rain. I used to dread hearing that thing run non stop, but now its like fuck it, there's two pumps down there now.

I have a backup generator, and a spare pump. It's ran like that from Feb through April, had just slowed down to about 4 times a day... then all this rain and it's going again. Still about every 20 min, damn water table is just too high.

I feel your pain. NJ has two ambient conditions:

Insanely hot and humid

Insanely cold and damp

Comfortable temps and humidity levels represent at best 5 weeks total for the year (and not all at once, of course...really just a few days here and there).

Over the last couple years we seem to be moving to a 2 season set up here in the Northeast. Cold as shit and Hot as fuck. Spring and Fall appear to be gone. Possibly forever.
