Actually, they probably wouldn't care much if I could prove it, which is why I wouldn't bother with the cops in the first place.

So the life of a cat would be worth a life in jail, the police may not care about cats disappearing, but I think they would have a problem with you killing someone over a cat. That would make a hilarious headline though.
